Just another unique day...

The day slowly begins and as it leaves behind a thunderous rainstorm, it brings with it rays of sunshine pouring in through every window as well as new ideas and a new outlook. The date is June 29, 2011. The time is 7:53am and I am realizing day by day in this life that each day has a strange way of feeling brand new as well as just another day.

I suppose it's the same feeling one gets when you realize that you're just another person among the 6 plus billion walking the other and yet, somehow still unique. A feeling of both perspective and humility and gratefulness and pride. So here we are once again at the start of just another unique day. I have a strange feeling that every generation in history feels they were the most advanced, enlightened and unique and yet we can't all be right, can we?

So as we go about this day, perhaps it's important to note that what makes it special is that it's ours to experience and nothing more. Agendas in life can be quite tricky and distracting from seeing the big picture. Like the workaholic who sacrifices family life for his job or the peace activist who helps feed the world yet forgets about his own neighbor, we lose the reason we do what we do in the first place.

So on this very sunny, ordinarily unique day, I hope you are where you want to be, have your heart on a goal without forgetting to live today and remember to 'write' on the wall of someone around you, not just those on your screen.
